Throughout your life, you will make numerous decisions. You will be told to have a plan, and to come up with the steps that will lead you to success in that plan. I’ve recently come to the conclusion that if having things turn out the way they were planned is the measure of a successful life, then some would say I’m a failure.Hell, a lot of people I know would be failures. But that’s the thing, every single one of those people I know are not failures, not even close. What I realized is that life’s disappointments should make you better, never bitter. Life is messy, that’s just how it is. So I see it as- you have two options- you can waste your time drawing lines, or you can live your life crossing them. Recognize that every day won’t be sunny, and when you find yourself lost in the darkness and despair, remember it’s only in the black of night you see the stars. And those stars will lead you back home. So don’t be afraid to make mistakes, to stumble and fall, cause most of the time, the greatest rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe you’ll get everything you wish for. Maybe you’ll get more than you ever could have imagined. Who knows where life will take you. The road is long and in the end, the journey is the destination. Make today count. Make tomorrow count. All these days that seem to drag by or even the ones that fly by; they all add up.
As my mom once told me, “today is the first day of the rest of your life.”
