Leo Buscaglia once said “too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have potential to turn a life around.”
I am a strong believer in good karma. Working in retail I see a lot of “grumpy” customers and people who act so miserable and upset as if life is falling down around them. Now, some of my coworkers would return the favor and act sour to them, but instead I smile. Why do I smile and treat them with kindness you ask? I do this because it saddens me that someone can be so upset with life that they can’t even crack a smile or laugh at a joke. They are wasting their days acting upset and mad when they should enjoy life, while they still have it.
Always make happiness your #1 priority. Put yourself first and always love yourself. Once you love yourself, being friendly and showing love to others will come with ease. Giving love becomes natural and love makes us all a little stronger, a little more powerful and more real. When you love yourself you will burst with love, energy, and light and it is actually the essence of this that other people will notice. You will love and care without trying and without expecting. You will help without effort. Give without returns. And smile because you’re alive. Thus, there is nothing more important than self-love.
So, free yourself from the shackles of judgement. Engage yourself in acceptance. Realize that you have been the way you are supposed to be since the day you were born.
