Audrey Hepburn once said, “You can tell more about a person by what he says about others than you can by what others say about him.”
I have written countless blog posts about self-discovery and my journey and how I perceive myself. You all know me, but who are you? I see people “liking” my Facebook page or emailing me comments, but that is not who you are. You are not the words you type or the pictures that pop up next to your name. You are not the color of your hair or the color of your skin. You are not the amount of calories you consume or the amount of miles you can run. You are definitely not the number of “likes” on a picture or how many people find you attractive. So who are you?
I believe you are the people you meet, because they all become a part of you. You are what you take from conversations you hold, and the dreams you dream. You are the goals and ambitions you had when you were six years old amongst the volume of the depths of your soul and the heart in your chest. If asked to describe yourself, don’t describe yourself physically: describe who you are from your fingertips down to the sole of your shoe. Describe that you are happy. Happiness is something we all fight for, strive for, insist on having, and are constantly looking for. Brag about the happiness you find in yourself, and do it relentlessly.
If you have no idea where to begin, make a change. There are far too many people who are unhappy with themselves and the circumstances they are in and that’s it, they are unhappy. They are doomed for unhappiness forever. But are they really? Don’t live your life in conservation and security. Find your passion. We all desire our own adventure. We all desire waking up to the sun shining and going to sleep as the city around us turns dark. Your life is full of beauty. Your life is full of you. Find it and find yourself.
So my lovelies, if you are waiting for a sign to talk to that girl, move across the country, make a change, or tell someone you love them… If You Are Waiting For A Sign, This Is It.
